After starting its service to Indonesia 20 years ago, UAE's global carrier, Emirates Airline will be adding a third daily flight from its Jakarta capital to more than 125 international destinations via Dubai starting March 2, 2013. The third flight EK 369 will depart from Jakarta at 07.45 AM and arrive in Dubai at 13.10 Dubai time, and EK 368 will depart Dubai from 19.05 and will arrive in Jakarta at 06.15 the next day. "We are seamlessly connecting passengers and commodities to our extensive route network which includes 10 Indian cities, 21 African destinations, and key points across the Far East and Australia," said Mohammed Al Nahari, Emirates Country Manager in Indonesia. Indonesian Bureau of Statistic (BPS) shows that the amount of outbound passengers from Soekarno Hatta International Airport to international destinations alone increases from 4,03 million in January-August 2011 period to 4,4 million in January-August 2012 (increases 8,57%). The new flight frequency will not only support tourism but also business and the flow of trades between Indonesia and the world via Dubai with Emirates SkyCargo. To support the dynamics of Indonesia s economy, Emirates' SkyCargo has been serving Jakarta with freighters for 20 years with electronic spare parts, raw materials, garment and other commodities. Over 20 million kilograms of cargo was carried between Dubai and Jakarta in 2011 alone. Emirates introduced second daily flights to Dubai in 2010, and the route is now served by the airline's all upgraded Boeing 777-300ER, a technologically-advanced aircraft in a two-class configuration.(mar)
