The youngest airline from Taiwan, Starlux Airlines (Starlux), launched its first direct flight on the route from Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) on Sunday (Sep 01).
The first flight with the Airbus A321 Neo aircraft was successful, departing from Taiwan at 08.10 LT and arriving in Jakarta at 12.30 LT. Then, flying back to Taiwan at 13.30 LT.
In the future, Starlux will serve this route using Airbus A330neo aircraft. This route will be served 5 (five) times a week, so, it can meet the needs of tourists and business people traveling between these two cities, and contribute to the growth of tourism and trade between Taiwan and Indonesia.
The inaugural flight ceremony was held with great fanfare at Departure Terminal 3 Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, which was marked by a cake cutting and ribbon cutting procession together by the Minister of Transportation - Budi Karya Sumadi, Chief Strategy Officer of Starlux Airlines - Simon Liu, Director General of Air Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation - Maria Kristi Endah Murni, Acting Governor of Jakarta - Heru Budi Hartono, Taiwan Ambassador for Indonesia - Chen Chung, and representatives from the Taipei Economic and Trade Office (TETO) in Indonesia.
