STARLUX Airlines Scores Triple CEIV Certification Newly Receiving CEIV Pharma Certification and CEIV Fresh Certification

STARLUX Airlines has solidified its position as a leader in specialized cargo transport, earning two more prestigious certifications from the International Air Transport Association (IATA). STARLUX has earned CEIV Pharma certification and CEIV Fresh certification.

These achievements, combined with CEIV Lithium Batteries certification, which STARLUX obtained in December last year, made STARLUX the first airline in Taiwan to hold three concurrent CEIV certifications!

“STARLUX continues to demonstrate our commitment to develop cargo services. Our dedication to quality assurance extends beyond passenger services to handling every piece of cargo entrusted to us according to the highest international standards,” said STARLUX CEO Glenn Chai. “Achieving three IATA CEIV certifications marks a significant milestone for STARLUX, showcasing our operational excellence and globally recognized professional staff. Moving forward, STARLUX will continue to upgrade and optimize our operations, delivering efficient and professional cargo services.”

The global demand for air transport of pharmaceuticals and perishables is continuously increasing. The IATA CEIV Pharma and CEIV Fresh certifications represent globally recognized benchmarks for air transport supply chains, specifically addressing the unique requirements of pharmaceutical and perishable shipments, respectively.

STARLUX Airlines has proactively refined and established clear and robust operational procedures for temperature-controlled handling throughout the transport journey. From initial acceptance and build-up to ramp transport, loading, unloading, storage, and final delivery, STARLUX ensures that all temperature-sensitive cargo is maintained under optimal conditions. This commitment guarantees the quality and integrity of pharmaceuticals and perishables, delivered with the highest level of service.

The rigorous IATA CEIV certification process involved comprehensive risk management, extensive staff training, and meticulous preparation of facilities to ensure the timely delivery and preservation of temperature-sensitive cargo, while avoiding the risks of temperature deviations and spoilage.

STARLUX is currently employing belly cargo operations using passenger aircraft while continuing to expand its market presence to meet the growing demand for air cargo. In 2024, the airline placed an order for five Airbus A350Fs cargo freighters and, in the last month, further confirmed the execution of an option for five more. A total of ten A350F freighters are expected to begin delivery in 2027.

STARLUX will continue to enhance cargo operation efficiency, provide diverse transportation solutions, and uphold its commitment to safety, punctuality, and high-quality service to become the first choice for cargo customers.
