2 Different "M" Flight
The title above is not about the status of air travel or total of money in "Million", but it is actually about world position in air travel condition, especially in domestic flight situation that is in critical financial condition. One side said that they are in "stable" condition, even though there is some "jiggle" to bankruptcy; whilst, another "M" is falling down considerably to bankruptcy. The airline state-owned corporation, Merpati Nusantara Airlines (MNA) argues the issue of instability condition in their company as of bankruptcy (default). According to company's management of the MNA, they are still supported by three aviation leasing companies (lessor) like Air Castle, Jetlease, and Jet Scape. Based on information that the Cargo Times+ got from the MNA in the press conference at MNA Head Office, on Monday (27/12), up to today the three leasing companies (lessors) never want or never issue a letter of default against that airline state-owned company. Managing Director of Merpati Nusantara, Sardjono Johny Tjitrokusumo has stated about this matter. The Fall Down "M" The positive confirmation about Mandala Airlines' ineffectiveness came from General Directorate of Aviation Transportation, Herry Bakti. Government has asked Mandala either they have to settle their refund process or they have to move their passengers, who have bought Mandala's ticket(s), to other airlines. Mandala has admitted submitting a proposal of financial obligation moratorium (PKPU-penundaan kewajiban pembayaran utang ) to Commercial Court of North Jakarta. Mandala is facing financial problem currently. As we know, Mandala will stop their flight schedule temporarily starting from 13 January 2011. The rumour about Mandala Airline's close from operation is so surprising, because, Mandala had announced their impressive plans. In mid of 2010, Mandala Airlines added international reroutes of Jakarta - Singapore and Balikpapan - Singapore. To enhance their services to passengers, Mandala immediately added 25 new Airbus flights. And according to the latest news, on Monday (1/17/2011), the Central Jakarta Commercial Court has approved the submitting a proposal of financial obligation moratorium (PKPU) Mandala Airlines. Thus, the private carrier has time for 45 days to restructure.(ayos/various source)
