Atlas Air Announces Placement Of Two B747-400F In Service For DHL Express

Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, Inc. (Atlas Air) recently announced the agreement to place two additional Boeing 747-400 Freighter aircraft into express network ACMI service for the benefit of DHL Express beginning in March 2011.
William J. Flynn, President and Chief Executive Officer of Atlas Air, said, "We are pleased to announce this agreement. Our high-quality, time-definite scheduled air cargo service and modern, efficient B747-400 fleet enable DHL Express and our freight-forwarder customers to connect with major transpacific markets quickly and dependably.
"This placement reflects the continuing growth of DHL's global express business and our proven ability to support customer growth initiatives by delivering global operating scale and consistent service excellence. The two additional 747 freighters that are going into service for DHL are incremental to the six 747-400Fs through which we are currently providing express network ACMI service to DHL."(aawh/mar)
