EVA Air: Another Two Hello Kitty Jets Take To The Air

Joining the Magic Jet, the second and third of EVA Air's latest generation of Hello Kitty Jets debuted on Dec. 7, 2011 and Dec. 23, 2011, respectively, bringing even more fun to the skies.
Both are brand-new A330-300 aircraft. Each has 30 Premium Laurel seats and 279 economy seats, an increase of 57 seats over the airlines A330-200 jets.
All the inflight service items feature the cute Japanese icon. EVA Air also offers a collection of limited-edition Hello Kitty duty-free items.
The Apple Jet has a fuselage painted with an image of Hello Kitty peering over a row of red and green apples. Hello Kitty weighs as much as three apples and is as tall as five apples. Her favorite food is her mom's homemade apple pie. The apple is therefore an important symbol for Hello Kitty.
The Global Jet features Hello Kitty and friends standing amid some of the world's greatest landmarks, including the Taj Mahal, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Pyramids of Giza, and the Sydney Opera House.
Operating as BR2106/BR2105, the Apple Jet flies Taipei-Fukuoka every Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. As BR160/BR159, it flies Taipei-Seoul daily. The Global Jet flies Taipei-Hong Kong daily as BR857/858 and Taipei-Tokyo daily as BR2198/2197. And from Jan. 3, the Magic Jet will fly Taipei-Guam on Tuesdays and Saturdays as BR20/BR19.
Following the precedent established with EVA's Hello Kitty Jets, the airline is applying the irrepressible character's theme to the design of more than 100 in-flight service items. At check-in, passengers on these aircraft are greeted by Hello Kitty boarding passes and baggage stickers.
Onboard, they'll discover Hello Kitty headrest covers, tissue, paper cups, utensils, milk bottles, snacks, hand-washing liquid, hand lotion, meals and ice cream. Flight attendants wear Hello Kitty aprons and special insignias on their uniforms. And at intervals, EVA will offer a series of limited-edition Hello Kitty duty-free products, enabling fans to acquire collectibles and enjoy happy journeys at the same time. (mar)
