Besides the development plan of air cargo business at the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Soetta) with the Cargo Village, PT Angkasa Pura II (AP II) would like invest for the cargo business development at the Kejati Airport in Majalengka, West Java. In this business, AP II will partner with PT Bandarudara International Jawa Barat (BIJB). "We have prepared Rp. 200 billion for the development to management," Budi Karya Sumadi said, The President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II few weeks ago. Budi explained, in the prepared plan, his side will form a subsidiary to developing the business. However, to ask PTBIJB for this business, he should meet the West Java Governor, Ahmad Heryawan. Haerul Anwar, Public Relation Manager of PT Angkasa Pura II added, the cargo development at the Kertajati Airport will be done simultaneously with the development by land and air that are being conducted by the government. As for the cargo facilities will have a 10,000 square meter warehouse with capacity of 50,000 tons per year. "We offered the warehouse construction first, so we registered as a cargo operator," he said. As known, the Ministry of Transportation targeted the development of Kertajati Airport will complete in 2017. This project has been started by the Ministry of Transportation and the West Java Government since 2013. The development by air will be the headquarter government responsibility, and the development by land will be the West Java government's responsibility. The Kertajati Airport is built on the 1,800 ha land. The first phase is planed to have one runway with the capacity of 5.6 million passengers per annum. In its development, the airport will be facilitated with two runways of 3,500 x 600 meters and 3,000 x 60 meters so that it will be able to accommodate Boeing 747 or 777. Then, by land development, the Province government will conduct land acquisition of 1,000 ha. As in the plan, the facilities at the west part will be defined into 3 packages as infrastructure, passengers' main terminal and operational support building.(kontan)
