Following SE No. 17/2020, Batik Air Optimize Passengers Cabin for Cargo

Batik Air, an airline of Lion Air Group, supported the cargo distribution and handling, especially medicines. The airline has charter service from Xiaoshan Hangzhou International Airport, Zhejiang Province, China (HGH) to Soekarno-Hatta International (CGK).

Reported from hamas.co, Batik Air’s flight ID-8622 departed from Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Sunday (19/04) at 15.00 Local Time and landed at Hangzhou at 22.35 Local Time. The flight from Hangzhou ID-8623 on Monday (20/4) at 00.35 Local Time and landed at Cengkareng at 06.10 Local Time.

Flying with the Airbus 320-200, Batik Air’s registered PK-LUK carried 17 air crews and 1,293 pharmacy boxes with total weight 8,569 kilograms. All cargoes have passed the check, strict supervision and packed following the valid standard.

The Managing Director of Batik Air, Capt. Achmad Luthfie said the flight support the government’s program to smoothen cargo distribution as well as to assist the humanitarian mission during the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to him the flight is operated as in standard operation procedure (SOP) and prioritize safety aspects (safety first). “Batik Air still spray disinfectant liquid to all cargo packages prior to the loading and unloading process into and from planes,” said Capt. Luthfie to Harian Nasional in Jakarta, Monday (20/04).

Capt. Luthfie said, Batik Air has maximized the level of cargo compartment and baggage in the cabin and the cabin space fill. All areas filled by the eligible cargoes to be carried inside the plane cabin.

This operation, he said, as in Circular of the Transportation Ministry Number 17 Year 2020 (SE 17/2020) that allow passenger airplane (commercial airplane) to carry cargoes in the passengers’ cabin without the passengers inside. “Aircraft sterilization and hygiene keep being improved,” he said.

Batik Air expressed gratitude towards the collaboration and supports from government, airport operators, air traffic operators, professional flight attendance, as well as the supports from many parties so that the roundtrip flight worked smoothly.
