Batavia Air Started Operation In Terminal 1C
As earlier reported, on July 12, Minister of State Owned Enterprises Mustafa Abu Bakar, accompanied by Banten Governor Ratu Atut Chosiyah, PT Angkasa Pura II (AP II) Direction, Soekarno Hatta Airport Administrator, and Batavia Air President Director Yudiawan Tansari inaugurated the operation of Terminal 1C at Boarding Lounge C4.
The move of Batavia Air service to Terminal 1C was done step by step.
And on Sunday, October 10, Batavia Air again launched its first operation at Terminal 1 C. The ceremony was done at Gate C 3.
Such simple ceremony was opened with remarked speech of Batavia Air Commercial Director H. Pandiangan. Some guests joining the ceremony include officials of Batavia air and representatives of AP II, Airport Administrator, Ministry of Transportation, Customs, Immigration, and some related institutions.
Development of Terminal 1C is a part of contingency program of Soekarno-Hatta expansion. In view of the passenger and cargo high growth, PT AP II decided to expand the airport, procure additional facilities, and improve infrastructures.
Hence, AP II would renovate, revitalize, and upgrade Terminal 1C into a modern terminal, environment friendly, high technology, easily accessible, and based on customers needs.
The terminal will also be expanded from 32,000 m2 to 37,000 m2, thus creating total capacity to 4 million passenger/year, from recently 3 million. AP II says this investment worth more than Rp33 billion.
Compared to other terminals, Terminal 1C has a competitiveness as it is equipped with shopping area for public. Users, passengers, and visitors can freely shop at area shopping arcade. This shopping area also acts as meeting point.
In addition the remarkably accessible terminal is also directly connected with area boarding lounge with standard safety system.
Eddy Haryanto, Public Relation Manager Batavia Air, adds that Batavia Air is now running 57 flights a day from Jakarta. With more than 8,000 per day, move from Terminal 1B to 1C is a good solution as it can provide an optimal service.
Overall, Batavia Air is now running 170 flights, totaling of domestic and international, covering 39 destination cities throughout Indonesia and 5 cities overseas: Guangzhou (China), Kuching (Malaysia), Singapore, Jeddah, and Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). Batavia Air deploys 36 airplanes, including Boeing 737-300, Boeing 737-400, Boeing 737-500 Airbus A-319, Airbus A-320, and Airbus A330.(YS/mar)
