The growth of aviation industry in Indonesia is more and more increasing, especially the total of airplanes. The numbers of national and international airplanes that operate in all over Indonesia should be followed by the increase of maintenance, repair and overhaul industry including the supplies of aircraft components. The General Directorate of Customs considers the Bonded Logistics Centers (PLB-Pusat Logistik Berikat) is absolutely right to be given to the MRO Industry of the national airplanes. Many conveniences that are given by the Customs in PLB facilities like flexibility on goods ownership, hoarding periods, goods arrivals and removal by online system is believed to be able to urge the acceleration of the national MRO Industry increase. "The grant of PLB facilities to the national MRO is in line with the growth of aviation industry in Indonesia that increase more and more. The increase of the numbers of airplanes should be followed by the growth of MRO Industry. Therefore, the customs will facilitate the MRO Industry," said Deni Surjantoro, the Sub-Directorate Head of Communication and Publication of Customs, in Jakarta, 11 June 2016. Special for the aviation industry, in the early stage, the Customs will provide PLB's facilities to PT GMF Aero Asia as one of Garuda Indonesia's subsidiaries and also as the biggest MRO Industry domestically. "If this facility is successfully used so this facility will also be given to other MRO Industries," he said.
