Around 3000 bikers packed the Stadion Manahan Surakarta yard to join the City Bike program held by PT Angkasa Pura Logistik (APLog) on Sunday, 28 January 2018. The event was held by the APLog Surakarta Branch to celebrate its 6th anniversary.

Prior to the opening, all bikers should sing Indonesia Raya, the national anthem. Then, the start flag raised by the Surakarta Deputy Mayor, Achmad Purnomo at 07.00 a.m.

Participants are from various generation, and from Surakarta and surrounding areas, and other cities like Surabaya and Jakarta. Some even brought their family members, and some are the members of bike club or community. 

Achmad Purnomo expressed his excitement over it. “Solo people love biking,” he said. All the Board of  Directors and Commissariat of PT Angkasa Pura Logistik also join the program riding their own bikes.

The route took 10 kilometres, it started from Stadion Manahan and passed through areas like Jl Ahmad Yani, Hl Monginsidi, then back to the start point.

The committee provided fascinating prizes like motorbikes, home appliances and gadget. The main door prize is Toyota Agya which was won by Madiyono, a biker from Salatiga.

The event was enlivened with music performance and donation grant to several numbers of orphanage.

The Managing Director of PT Angkasa Pura Logistik Herry A.Y. Sikado expressed his blessings and appreciations to all parties who have supported the City Bike program to work smoothly and successfully. ”Our gratitude to the Surakarta Government, Police and the National Army who have guarded this program from the beginning to the end,” said Herry.

In Surakarta, the presence of Angkasa Pura Logistik also support small and medium entrepreneurs. The Angkasa Pura Logistik Outlet at Pasar Klewer provide goods delivery by air for the entrepreneurs.

The Surakarta’ Branch Head, Priyo Djatmiko explained that the outlet for Pasar Klewer have started to operate since 2017 and got positive responses from vendors who need express inter-island delivery. Priyo hopes the City Bike would even close Angkasa Pura Logistik and Surakarta people and the surroundings.
