Angkasa Pura I Sets Temperature Scanner to Anticipate the Spreading of Ebola

Angkasa Pura Airports (Angkasa Pura I) works together with the Port Health Office (KKP or Kantor Kesehatan Pelabuhan) sets the body temperature scanner to anticipate Ebola virus spread (African scarlet fever) "So far, there's no special preparation yet, because the indications of Ebola entering Indonesia haven't been found yet, except for thermo scanner provision that coordinate with the Health Department," said the Corporate Communication Department Head, Handy Heryudhitiawan in Jakarta recently.
He explained, after the object is suspected to be infected by the virus as the body temperature scan it, the health officers will conduct first aid from isolation to check/diagnose, identify, and reference to the nearest hospital for further treatment.
Handy also said the human body temperature scans have been positioned at the International passenger arrival gates in some airports as the gates in eastern Indonesia - Bali, Surabaya and Makassar. Ngurah Rai Airport
Up to today, the body temperature scan to detect the Ebola virus is still strictly used. The scan is not only applied to African tourist, but also to all passengers or tourists who enter Bali from other countries and transit. The tool is to detect the fever (high fever) caused by the virus.
Co-Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Gusti Ngurah Ardita said that the management and the corps will still focus and stay alert to the possibility of Ebola's outbreak. The bottom line is to keep monitoring all tourists especially those who come from Africa who enter Bali.
If the Ebola's symptom found in one's body, the patient will be isolated for further check. The isolation room has been set up in Center General Hospital (RSUP) Sanglah, Denpasar. "The isolation room has complete facility. We conduct the same treatment as our previous experiences on some patients who were infected by Mers, Sars, Avian influenza, and others," he confirmed.
Juanda Airports
Similar to Ngurah Rai, Juanda Airport, Surabaya, also intensifies the monitoring and examination towards international tourists especially who come from Africa and Middle East countries. Besides optimizing the Thermal Scanner, Angkasa Pura Airport also facilitates isolation rooms for passengers who are detected by the virus.
Tourists are obliged to pass the Thermal Scanner set in Terminal 2 of Juanda Airport. The implementation of this operation is applied to passengers who come from Middle East countries in order to anticipate the spread possibility of the virus to Indonesia through Juanda Airport as the deadly virus has now been spreading to the Middle East countries.(mar)
