Indonesia's flag carrier, Garuda Indonesia, on Thursday (October 29) welcomes its new fleet Boeing B777-300ER with Skyteam Livery. The new fleet that registered as PK-GII is the 9th Boeing B777-300ER operated by Garuda Indonesia since 2013. President & CEO Garuda Indonesia, Muhammad Arif Wibowo explained that fleets with Skyteam livery is one requirement of Skyteam membership. "As per September 2015, Garuda Indonesia (Group) operated in total number of 181 fleets. Ongoing with our business growth, network expansion and service improvement program, Garuda keeps continuing its fleet rejuvenation program. By end of this year, Garuda Indonesia (Group) will operate a total 187 aircrafts, with an average 4.3 year." From the whole 181 aircrafts, up until now there are already four Garuda's aircrafts painted in SkyTeam livery namely one Boeing B777-300ER, one Airbus A330-300, one Boeing B737-800NG, and one Bombardier CRJ1000 NextGen. Garuda Indonesia became the 20th member to join the SkyTeam Alliance in March 2014, providing access to an extensive global network with more than 16,270 daily flights to 1,057 destinations in 179 countries. Garuda Indonesia started to operate Boeing B777-300ER since 2013. From the 9 aircrafts, 7 of them are equipped with First Class, with total capacity of 314 passengers, consisting of 8 seats for First Class, 38 seats for Business Class, and 268 seats for Economy Class. Those 7 B777s are operated to serve long haul destination such as Amsterdam and London. Meanwhile, the other two Boeing B777-300ER - including this new PK-GII - have a total capacity of 393 passengers, with configuration of 26 seats for Business Class and 367 seats for Economy Class. This configurated B777 are operated to serve Hajj and Umra flights.
