Until the end of 2014, JNE decided to add electric bicycle for documents and package deliveries that is more effective around business area as well as to support DKI Jakarta Provincial Government regarding to the regulation of motorcycle restriction to pass some protocol streets. Now, DKI Jakarta, again, applies odd-event vehicle's numbers policy for all vehicles in some area that will be firmly applied on 30 August 2016 to reduce traffic congestion. To anticipate that issue, JNE build partnership with a bike courier community Westbike Messenger Service (WMS), found in 2010 and has started its courier business since 2013. JNE and WMS launched JNE Eco-Courier supported by tens of bike couriers with particular uniforms. That step is as JNE's commitment to give prime service quality to all loyal customers, especially in the areas that apply restriction on private cars or motorbike movement. Bike couriers of JNE Eco - Courier will be operated in Golden Triangle areas (Jendral Sudirman street - Gatot Subroto street - Rasuna Said/Kuningan street) where there are many office buildings and business districts with high volume of JNE's load shipment. In the future, JNE will keep innovating by mapping the most relevant operational model of package delivery using bikes so it can be implemented in other cities in Indonesia. (en/mar)
