In the spirit of collaboration and sharing, PT TIPS, Citilink (LCC flight operator) and Angkasa Pura (airport holding company) collaborate to optimize the unused passengers’ baggage. This collaboration is signed by the agreement signing between Vincent Kusuma - CEO of PT TIPS Inovasi Indonesia (PT TIPS), Benny Rustanto - VP Cargo & Anciliary of PT Citilink Indonesia, Dorma Manalu - EGM Commercial Service Division of PT Angkasa Pura II, Herry A.Y. Sikado – the Managing Director of PT Angkasa Pura Logistik (APLog), and Denny Fikri – the Managing Director of PT Angkasa Pura Kargo.
This collaboration will become a new profitable innovation for travelers (passengers) by using the vacant passengers’ baggage space for goods (package) delivery inter-city in Indonesia. Moreover, the passengers who share their baggage using TIPS application will get incentive.
"Every domestic travelers (passengers) has baggage quota for 15 - 20 kgs. The interesting fact of domestic travelers’ baggage that they rarely use the baggage because they tend to carry their baggage into cabin or put it under their seat,” said Vincent Kusuma at Menteng, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (15/8/2018).
On the other side, the growth of e-commerce transaction value in Indonesia reach 78 per cent per annum, the highest in the world currently that show the needs of delivery services at around 80 million packages per month (PPPRO payments & E-Commerce Report 2018). This inspire PT TIPS to launch the TIPS application, a digital platform that use the vacant passengers’ baggage quota for inter-city goods delivery swiftly and safely, and received on the same day or “Same Day Same Delivery”.
“With the Innovative TIPS application that can be downloaded using Android and iOS system, passengers who have open baggage space could get incentive by sharing their baggage. Hence, they would obtain affordable flight price consequentially,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Herry A.Y. Sikado, Managing Director of PT Angkasa Pura Logistik’ stated the principal of safety and circumspection besides the swiftness and punctuality are things that cannot be compromised.
For APLog that is offered with PT TIPS, the platform digital that uses the vacant passangers’ baggage for inter-city goods delivery in Indonesia, is a smart, unique and the only concept in the world. Therefore, APLog is interested to use TIPS.
The point is, according to Herry A.Y. Sikado, TIPS can be combined with services in APLog; especially with the goods security and flight safety that will be monitored by the flight operator, special for Citilink. “We really prioritize the safety so that we will feel secured.”
Meanwhile, the Managing Director of PT Citilink Indonesia Juliandra Nurtjahjo sense the proud of Citilink to be involved in the only new innovation in the world. “The point is Citilink take part in the innovation in optimizing the use of the passengers’ baggage as well as to give easiness for people to deliver their goods and received on the same day," said Juliandra Nurtjahjo.
Initially, Citilink applied the TIPS program in 3 stations, Cengkareng (Jakarta), Juanda (Surabaya), and Ngurah Rai (Bali). "Potentially, we will open other stations besides the existing 3 stations," he said.
Meanwhile, the Managing Director of PT. Angkasa Pura II Muhammad Awaluddin said his party will fully support the new innovation services by honoring the security aspect of the services that correspond with the applied flight regulation.
The collaboration was also witnessed by the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi and the Head of Bekraf (Creative Economy Agency) Triawan Munaf. Both of them support and welcome the collaboration of PT TIPS Inovasi Indonesia with Citilink Indonesia, PT Angkasa Pura II, PT. Angkasa Pura Logistik and PT Angkasa Pura Kargo.
