Lion Opened New Route From Jakarta To Madinah And Received B 737-900ER With The Latest Sky Interior
Lion Air, on 9 April 2011 started operating direct flight from Jakarta to Madinah (Saudi Arabia) using Double Deck configuration Boeing 747-400 with 506 seats capacity (22 business class seats and 484 economic class seats).
The flight, will be operating every Saturday and Sunday with flight number JT 110 Jakarta - Madinah, departs from Soekarno Hatta Airport, Jakarta at 10.35 WIB and arrives at Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz Airport, Madinah at 16.25 LT . The next flight to Jakarta, with flight number JT 111, departs from Jeddah at 19.40 LT and arrives in Jakarta at 09.10 WIB.
Moreover Edward Sirait, General Director of Lion Air said that Madinah Airport administration process is faster than King Abdul Aziz Airport, Jeddah and the passenggers do not have to be placed at crowded Haj terminal.
Besides that, Jakarta - Madinah flight can be connected to all Lion Air and also Wings Air domestic flight routes in Indonesia (via Jakarta) in order to make it easier for domestic passengers.
Boeing with the latest Sky Interior
Lion Air is not only opening a new international route, but also receiving the first B 737-900ER with the latest Sky Interior that never been used in any Indonesian airlines. B 737-900ER registered under PK-LHQ, is the 47th flight which specially ordered in 2005 from Boeing Company in the Seattle, USA and also the 43rd flight from the total of 178 flights.
B 737-900ER has capacity for 213 all economy class seats or 195 economy class seats, and 10 business class seats equipped with the latest Boeing Sky Interior cabin. Additional superior cabin flight interior feature is the new Pivot Bins design with bigger capacity and more wider look; LED lamps interior structuring on the ceilings and sidewalls are more interesting with futuristic countur; The new lighting system has several different lighting accents such as soft blue for welcoming effect and soft Sunset for calm and relaxing; Touch screen panel for Flight Attendant.
"Moreover, the latest Sky Interior is equipped with more elegant new Passenger Service Unit and integrated LED reading light, speaker for better audio, life vest, and more option for Flight Entertainment, new Sidewalls for wider looks with new bigger looks windows, Improved Operational Security Features, less noises and calm flight cabin," said Edward.
Edward said that Lion Air will keep ordering new B 737-900ER which equipped with new Boeing Sky Interior, directly from Boeing factory in Seattle, USA.
At the moment, Lion Air and Wings Air serving 63 destinations all over Indonesia and 7 Regional / International destinations (Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Mellaca, Jeddah and Madinah).
Lion Air fleet has 66 flights which are Boeing 737-900 ER (47 flights), Boeing 747-400(2 flights), Boeing 737-300 (4 flights), Boeing 737-400 (9 flights), and MD-90 (4 flights). Wings Air fleet has 16 flight which are ATR 72-500 (12 flights), Dash-8 (2 flights), MD-82 (2 flights). Total fleets of Lion Air and Wings Air are 82 flights. (AYOS)
