MASkargo is boosting its competitive edge with the launch of its first freighter service into the Federal Territory of Labuan, which utilizes the newly acquired A330-200 midrange freighters. Effective 7 November 2012, MASkargo's reguler schedule to Labuan Airport is on every Wednesday at 09.15am from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). "The scheduled freighter service will complement the current flights operated by Malaysia Airlines' passenger aircraft. The A330 freighter can accommodate up to 65 tonnes of cargo. This offers our customers additional capacity and greater flexibility", said Mohd Yunus Idris, Chief Executive Officer of MASkargo. Over the years, MASkargo has gained immense experience from coordinating and successfully delivering oil and gas equipment to a number of destinations worldwide. Recently, MASkargo successfully handled a maximum load of oil & gas equipments from Hong Kong to Labuan via a chartered Boeing 747 freighter. With the expansion of this network, MASkargo also hopes to promote KLIA as a transshipment hub via the Kuala Lumpur (KUL) - Kota Kinabalu (BKI) - Labuan (LBU) - Kuala Lumpur route. Apart from these scheduled flights, MASkargo also offers charter services for oil and gas equipments and other types of cargo utilizing its Boeing 747-400 freighter which can carry up to 120 tonnes.(mar)
