Angkasa Pura Kargo Manage AP II's Cargo Business
PT Angkasa Pura I's subsidiary company, PT Angkasa Pura Kargo (AP Kargo) targeted to earn income for Rp 150 billion this year. The target would be from the previous cargo business operation managed directly by PT Angkasa Pura II (AP II). Starting this year, AP II delegate its cargo business to AP Kargo. AP II manage 13 airports in the western Indonesia, and cargo businesses at 10 airports are directly given over to AP Kargo to be managed. "All have been submitted to us, and we will focus to increase cargo volume this year that is still small," said Denny Fikri, the Managing Director of Angkasa Pura Kargo in an interview session with Cargo Times at ICE BSD City, Tangerang, Thursday (3 March). With the authorization, AP Kargo doesn't have to throw big investment in cargo business development because the cargo warehouse and infrastructure at the 10 airports have been available. For example, at the Kualanamu Airport Medan, AP II has had 16 units of warehouse with 200 meters square capacity in each unit. The AP Kargo's task is to optimize the warehouse volume. For example, invite cargo company's community to enter the warehouse. Similar steps will also be implemented at other airports (9 airports) so the investment that has been spent by the company is not really significant.(mar)
