The Directorate General of Air Transportation (DGAT) - Ministry of Transportation, Agus Santoso said the appreciation to Indonesian airlines, Garuda Indonesia and Citilink that have been successful to obtain International awards. The awards that were received by Garuda Indonesia and Citilink were from Skytrax awarded in Singapore Airshow 2018 today, Thursday (8 Feb, 2018) at Changi Exhibition Center. 

Agus expressed his gratitude to Garuda Indonesia and Citilink for their hard work so far that gave result International Award. “This is a remarkable achievement for the airlines especially, and for Indonesia Aviation generally. I thanked Garuda Indonesia and Citilink as well as people who have worked together to make the two airlines become good,” he said.

On the other side, Agus also hopes the awards can be hold by the airlines and can become a trigger for other national airlines to improve services for customers so that they can get international award too.

“All airlines have same potency to give the best services to passengers. As a national flight regulator, we will keep urging airlines to maximize their potency. This is very possible to do so. I am very sure the national airlines are able to  realize it considering the predicate of Indonesian safety flight has leapt to a  prestigious point 81%. It makes the Heritage of Indonesia Aviation got a trade mark of Safety and Services,” said Agus in the award ceremony. 

In term of services, the DGAT as a regulator gives independency to do innovations to get attractiveness from passengers and air transportation users. A regulator will always observe and make regulation that won’t burden passengers and airlines in making services as long as in the safety corridor.   

If the airlines’ services are good and get international appreciation like now, this can boost the world’s trust to the   Indonesian aviation. Hope, this will boost the numbers of international passengers who want to visit Indonesia use the  national airlines to grow the national economy. 

As known, two Indonesia airlines got International awards from Skytrax, an England base independent rating institution. Flag carrier, Garuda Indonesia, again, hold its predicate as the “Five Stars Airline” that have been obtained and hold since 2014. And, Garuda Indonesia’s subsdiary, Citilink successfully obtained the award as a four star LCC airline from Skytrax, and is the first and the only LCC in Asia continent obtaining four star predicate.
