Garuda Indonesia subsidiary maintenance company PT. GMF AeroAsia (GMF) has just got Class B Design Approval Organization (DOA) certificate from Air Transportation General Directorate, Ministry of Transportation after it successfully passed several qualification processes. The trial process had run since July 2009, while the Debrif & Final Report took place on July 28-30, 2010 in Bandung. The final process was attended by DOA team from the directorate (DKUPPU) and DOA team from PT. GMF AeroAsia. With this certificate, GMF is authorized to handle some works like APU minor repair design and minor alteration design, structure, cabin interior, and avionic. In addition, GMF AeroAsia is also authorized to do major repair design and major alteration design for aircraft structure and cabin interior. The market of design and organizing will grow up significantly, in line with the growth of the national aviation industry. After handling DOA national aviation authority, GMF AeroAsia is eyeing DOA from EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency). Hence it will build up human resources, facilities, and other equipments. EASA DOA certificate is an international reference for a company that propose DOA.(Ayos)
